Specter Crack is a free small and simple real-time audio spectrum visualizer application. It uses a spectrum graph to display the audio spectral content of a sound track. If no sound track is selected Specter will mute the sound output of your PC. Specter can be used to spectrally analyze music, voice, ambient sound or other sound sources. While the source is playing specter will generate a 2D graph displaying the spectrum content in real-time. Specter is similar to spectraplorer, specttunes and mandolin-viewer and uses the same basic idea. All windows created by Specter will have a name like: C:\dev\testing.specter. Press «SHIFT + ALT + S» to refresh the display of new data. You can also use the tabs on the top of the window to refresh the display. The Spectrum Graph The Spectrum graph shows the frequency as a line going from top to bottom. With the first sound track loaded specter will mark where the highest and lowest frequencies are found on the graph. There is a line showing the frequencies of the sound track relative to the highest and lowest frequencies. At the right side of the window you get a histogram with the frequency distribution for the sound track. If an input signal is routed to the sound track the line on the graph will move in the same direction as the input signal. A graph of the RMS (Root Mean Square) amplitude is displayed under the waveform. You can hold the mouse pointer over the line on the graph to get a numerical value for the frequency. Note that the audio spectrum displays for the sound track in a similar fashion as the spectrograph, but not all frequencies will be displayed. At the top of the window there is a graph for the attack, decay and sustain of the sound track. Usually the wave form is multiplied by the volume for the sound track so the scale on the graph is in dB. Left click on the sound track gets you a list of all tracks on the sound card. Specter is quite easy to use, it has a 2 dimensional graph with 2 independent real time spectral displays. Specter can be used to visualize small sound files. Today its focus is on displaying sound files for an entire Cd located on your hard drive.
